Reflecting on our last day of 2020! We are so grateful to our amazing staff, volunteers, funders, community members and other organisations who supported us this year. We are looking forward to 2021 and the exciting ventures it will bring.

  MEET OUR EMERGING LEADER AWARD WINNER FOR 2019 WISE Charitable Trust has been a proud supporter of the Waitara High School Senior Prize giving for many years, providing financial scholarships to students who have gone above and beyond in their school and community. In 2019, the Trust introduced the Emerging Leader, Emerging Tradie and the Tū Tangata Taiohi o Whaitara awards. For the Emerging Leader award, the Trust looked at someone that demonstrated great leadership by building self-confidence and strengthening self-believe in others. The inaugural Emerging Leader winner for 2019 is Ruby Hutchieson.  Ruby has bee n an outstanding role model for younger students at the school and to her peers. She is a very dedicated and motivated individual not only in the classroom but also on the sports field. Scholarship Award Winners

  For many years, WISE Charitable Trust has supported local and emerging students from Waitara High School in the form of providing financial scholarships at the Senior Prize giving each year. However, in 2019 the scholarships were refined to better reflect the values of the Trust and to encourage youth leadership within the town of Waitara.   One of those awards, the Trust wanted to encourage and highlight examples of community leadership and active citizenship in Waitara. The inaugural winners of the “Tū Tangata Taiohi o Whaitara” award for 2019 are: Tewhaia Loveridge, Nelly Maheu Niumea and Tusi Afelee Niumea.  Nelly Maheu Niumea, Tusi Afelee Niumea and Tewhaia Loveridge pictured with then General Manager Tracey Bryant.
